'Poppy' Vessel
Hand raised Britannia silver, 2010
Description : This piece is quite a traditional shaped vessel, which admittedly arose from a longing to raise a large and more conventional ‘pot’. ‘Poppy’ is extremely simple in form which along with her scale creates a bold presence. Gentle contouring from her shoulders flowing down to her base, with the addition of a fine and delicately edged opening makes her a beautiful and impressive form, which will hopefully compliment well more alternatively shaped objects placed by her side! A wonderful opportunity and an excellent example piece to very basically document the simple, time consuming transformation of process from flat sheet through to full raised form - a very extraordinary and satisfying process.
