'Singing Trumpet' Vessel

Hand raised Britannia silver, 2010

Description : Quirky! A little lovely lemon like shape which explodes wide open at the mouth - tight and small suddenly shouts out loud! Initially an overlooked sketch which I was later urged to recreate directly into silver as the drawing was. Although there are aspects within ‘Singing Trumpet’ which are synonymous in other pieces (wide round faces and ‘tail’ ends), removing the development process completely was strange and unnerving. Consequently it was a liberating experience which proved that spontaneity can sometimes better capture originality of the creative and perhaps wacky starting points. Incidentally she is one of my fondest pieces to date.

Dimensions : H415 X W235 X D215mm
