'Double Skinned Vessel'

Hand raised Britannia silver, 2010

Description : The object represents a subtle and gradual gathering of energy. The piece is thick skinned and heavy, and so is working hard to pull itself upwards, tipping over slightly with the burden of its weight. Over time a deep, ‘perfectly’ formed heavy bulbous form is created with a sumptuous wide squat shape for reward. Where the form has gathered upwards and inwards towards its centre, the form has finally fallen fast over the circular edge inside itself. Downwards deep within, the viewer is invited to follow the inward flow, where a thinner and more delicate area is hidden away.

Dimensions : H120 X W195 X D195mm
