New work for 2010

For the last three months Sarah has kept herself thoroughly tucked away at her Wighill workshop, bustling away to create her new body of work!

‘Focus’ Showcase at CAA

With great relief and excitement, Sarah’s now proud to have Contemporary Applied Arts present her newly completed pieces at their ‘Focus’ showcase which will be on display between the 26th of March through to the 1st of May.

This will be the very first opportunity to see the first of this year’s hammer work including her traditionally shaped ‘Poppy’ vessel which sits both bold and beautiful. While satisfying what Sarah admits as being a longing to raise a large and more conventional ‘pot’, it has simultaneously prompted quirkier and more curious objects such as ‘Singing Trumpet’ to which she’s previously been known to develop.

'Collect 2010' at the Saatchi Gallery

Some of Sarah’s new works will also be showing at this year’s ‘Collect 2010’ which for its second year will be held at the very grand Saatchi Gallery, between the 14th and the 17th of May. Presented by the Crafts Council, Sarah confesses that this international art fair for contemporary objects is to her one of the most thrilling events to be part of.
Now in her third year of participation, Sarah is this year looking forward to joining other makers at Contemporary Applied Arts where she believes her striking pieces will sit comfortably amongst the mixed media of ceramic, wood, glass and textiles.
